Here we go - Spotter Training

Here we are in the dead of winter, but as usual, now is the time that the
NWS starts planning spotter training sessions. At WARN, we believe that
training is the foundation of effective spotting. If you want to become a
SKYWARN spotter, we recommend you attend one of these sessions. If you
are
already a spotter, NWS recommends you attend a training session every
couple
of years.

The National Weather Service keeps the latest information on spotter
training sessions posted on their web site at
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/er/iln/training99.htm. Within the next day or so,
there will be a direct link from the WARN web site (http://www.warn.org)
to
the training schedule. That way you can visit our site and click straight
to the latest training schedule.

As usual, WARN will host a spotter training course sometime late in March.
This course will have expanded content directed toward amateur radio
equipped spotters. Anyone is welcome to attend any course, but ham radio
operators are strongly encouraged to attend the WARN sponsored course.

We will pass along additional information as it becomes available.
