[warn-news] Heads up for 2/11

The entire Cincinnati is under a High Wind Warning from 12 noon tomorrow
(2/11) through 5:00am Thursday morning (2/12).  It appears we may have
severe weather with the passage of this weather system.  Here is the text of
the warning from the National Weather Service:

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 12 PM WEDNESDAY TO 5 AM EST
THURSDAY...

LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS TONIGHT...THEN
RAPIDLY STRENGTHEN AS IT MOVES TO THE LOWER GREAT LAKES BY
WEDNESDAY NIGHT. AS THE LOW TRACKS NORTH OF THE REGION ON
WEDNESDAY...WINDS WILL INCREASE...AND A COLD FRONT WILL QUICKLY
SWEEP THROUGH THE OHIO VALLEY. THIS FRONT MAY BE ACCOMPANIED BY
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS...WITH THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE DAMAGING
WINDS. BEHIND THE FRONT...A VERY STRONG PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL
RESULT IN WIND GUSTS OF 45 TO 55 MPH WEDNESDAY NIGHT...WITH GUSTS
AS HIGH AS 65 MPH POSSIBLE.

A RECENT ICE STORM ACROSS PARTS OF THE AREA...AND SATURATED
GROUND FROM RAIN AND MELTING SNOW...HAVE LEFT MANY TREES SUSCEPTIBLE
TO DOWNED LIMBS AND UPROOTING. AS A RESULT...HIGH WINDS MAY RESULT
IN SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

REMEMBER...A HIGH WIND WARNING MEANS HAZARDOUS WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE IMMINENT OR HIGHLY LIKELY.

Furthermore the latest Hazardous Weather Outlook is already stating that
spotter activation is likely.  Spotters should be prepared for activation.
After the winter respite from severe weather, now would be a good time to
review the reporting criteria and procedures.  HAM radio operators - Are
your batteries charged?  Here is the latest Hazardous Weather Outlook:

OHIO...SOUTHWEST OHIO AND WEST CENTRAL OHIO.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

A STRENGTHENING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE FROM THE MIDDLE
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY INTO THE GREAT LAKES REGION WEDNESDAY AND
WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THIS WILL BRING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ALONG
WITH HIGH WINDS TO THE AREA WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY EVENING.
THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS AND
ISOLATED TORNADOES WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY
EVENING.

INTERNET FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE FOLLOWING HAZARDS.
