Just a reminder that the state-wide tornado drills for Indiana will be
held
tomorrow, Wednesday, March 17, 2004. There will be 2 drills, one between
2:00pm and 2:30pm, and the other between 7:00pm and 7:30pm. WARN will be
on
the air for both drills, taking check-ins from ham radio operators in our
area, using normal frequencies and procedures. The check-ins require only
your call-sign and county. Hams in Ohio and Kentucky may also check in.
In
the event of real severe weather at the time of a drill, it will be
postponed until Thursday, 3/18.
Everyone in Indiana is encouraged to use these drills to prepare for the
upcoming severe weather season. When the alerts are issued, practice your
procedures as you would in the event of an actual tornado near your home,
school, business, or wherever you may be at the time.
